One of the most spectacular waterfalls in Australia, the Fitzroy Falls in the beautiful Morton National Park plunges dramatically into the untouched valley 81m below. Visit this breathtaking location to enjoy views from escarpment lookouts, explore winding forest trails dotted with wildflowers, and spot rare native birds and wildlife.

The award-winning Fitzroy Falls Visitor Centre is located a short walk from the falls, offering a cafe, souvenir shop, and information on wildlife and birdwatching in the park. Join an Aboriginal Cultural walk for insights into the fascinating Indigenous history in the region. Rangers can tailor programs for schools and tour groups. From here, a wheelchair-accessible boardwalk leads to scenic views of the magnificent waterfall.
Explore the surrounding wilderness of the Morton National Park on well-marked walking tracks. The East Rim and Wildflower walking tracks are superb in spring, leading to lookouts with breathtaking views, while the West Rim walking track offers vistas of gorges and waterfalls. Keep a look out for the elusive lyrebird among other rare native birds.
Enjoy panoramic views across Kangaroo Valley atop the sandstone escarpment at Mannings lookout, a 10min drive southeast of Fitzroy Falls. A short walk from the carpark through tranquil bushland, pack a picnic and enjoy lunch with a view at the picnic tables while listening to birdsong.

For bike enthusiasts, the Fitzroy Falls to Kangaroo Valley cycling route is a challenging 30km journey from the falls to the village of Kangaroo Valley, tucked inside one of Australia’s most beautiful and secluded valleys. You’ll see spectacular scenery up close, including wallabies, kangaroos and birdlife.
Fitzroy Falls is two hours’ drive from Sydney or Canberra. The hamlet of Fitzroy Falls contains a few dozen homes surrounded by farmland. You can stay at the Twin Falls Bush Cottages, the Redleaf Farm Carriages, camp at Griffins Farm, or stay in the neighbouring towns of Bowral, Bundanoon and Robertson.
