Get the kids outdoors and on-water doing something fun with the super-popular Tackers Learn-to-Sail Courses.
The Tackers program offers children, in a general age range of six to twelve years, sequential sailing skill and knowledge development through three main courses/levels: Tackers One - Having Fun, Tackers Two - Tricks and Techniques, Tackers Three - Sailing Fast!
The program has been designed to keep children engaged with short but interesting activities where kids have fun whilst learning fundamental sailing skills and habits without even noticing!
The Academy caters to absolute beginners and provides a progressive syllabus to lead the children to achieve full confidence on the water, eventually skippering a dinghy themselves.
Both school holiday programs and weekly term-based courses are available. Active Kids vouchers can be accepted.
The Tackers courses are part of a nationally delivered program from Australian Sailing and the instructors and assistant instructors are fully qualified and endorsed. BSC supply the sailing dinghies and equipment as well as a life jacket for each student. Kids just need to wear swimmers, boardshorts, rash shirts and enclosed wet-shoes/old sandshoes.
