This small bush campground is a great spot to camp overnight before discovering beautiful Morton National Park and the former gold-mining town of Yalwal.

Depending on the time of year, you may be lucky enough to have this campground to yourself. It's a real gem of a place, too close to the water and set amongst gorgeous wattle forest and red gums. Its three sites are unpowered, but the adjoining picnic area is well-equipped with an amenities block, picnic tables, barbecues and fire rings.

Use Toorooroo campground as your personal base when exploring Morton's magnificent Ettrema wilderness region. Beyond this, the area offers many ways to reacquaint yourself with nature. Head off on a bushwalk or jog, go birdwatching, wildlife-spotting, or try a spot of freshwater fishing. Go mountain biking or 4WD touring. And if you still find yourself with free time, a shady patch of grass is the perfect setting for some holiday reading or an afternoon nap.
