Shallow Crossing on the Clyde River is a 30 minute drive from Batemans Bay and inland from Murramarang National Park. It's impassable during heavy rains and high tide.

The area is surrounded by Boyne, South Brooman and Shallow Crossing State Forests, and is a haven for fishermen, bushwalkers, four-wheel drivers, and those who like to sit around and listen to the birds.

Shallow Crossing can be accessed from the Princes Highway at East Lynne or from the Kings Highway at Nelligen. Either way involves travel along well-formed dirt roads suitable for all vehicles. Extreme care should be taken if driving on these roads after rain as they can become very slippery. There are a number of bush camping locations in the area. A popular spot is the Shallow Crossing Campground.
