This is Outback Astronomy's cafe located on the outskirts of Broken Hill. Enjoy lovely views of the outback when dining outdoors.

It services the nighttime sky show stargazing experiences eg platters, dinner with the stars and packaged foods and beverages. During the day, the cafe opens for limited hours, for light snacks and meals.

Patrons can enjoy barista coffee, milkshakes, cookies and light lunches, with beer or wine. The dining area occupies about two-thirds of the main building. The premises were previously occupied from the late 1930s until the late 1990s by the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

History is everywhere. Queen Elizabeth II visited the building in the 1950s. See photographs from this historic event in the cafe. The art deco architecture of the building sets the tone for a relaxing rest stop.

All meals and snacks are prepared on-site. Old-fashioned, healthy, old-school recipes are the perfect foodie offering in this historic environment. The menu is designed and prepared onsite. It is the perfect location for a late-morning coffee or a relaxing lunch with friends.
