Capture the magic of the outback at one of the friendliest, and most unique, race days in Country New South Wales - the Louth Races, hosted by the Louth Turf Club.
Louth is situated on the banks of the Darling River, 132 kilometres north west of Cobar and 100 kilometres south west of Bourke.
There are Fashions on the Field prizes from Best Dressed Lady and Best Dressed Gentleman. Live bands will entertain the crowds at Shindy's Inn on Friday night and again following the races on Saturday at the track.
The Club stages a seven-race program, with prize money of AUD60,000 plus trophies and sashes. Sky Channel will be in operation for off-course and interstate punters and all the usual amenities such as betting fluctuation, bar, barbeque and afternoon tea will be available. Gates open early with the first race generally starting around 1 pm.
Camping spots with firewood, toilets and a few showers are provided at the race course.
The main event on Friday evening is the Calcutta. Tickets are on sale at Shindy’s Inn from late afternoon, ceasing around 7pm in preparation for the draw and auction.
