Overview
Morrall's Bakery, the famous little hub for its pies and freshly baked bread, has been an iconic spot in Bourke for over 110 years for both locals and tourists. Starting with the local family, the Morrall's, they began a family tradition of the business being handed down from Father to Son, with the legacy ending with the much loved Alan Morrall, his wife Cynthia Morrall and their son Mark.
The Bakery didn't stray too far from family, with long-term worker John Milgate taking reigns.
John knew the family and loved the bakery. He started his career at the age of 13, after school hours. Four years later, John finished school and took up an apprenticeship with Alan Morrall and Mark Morrall. John and his wife Tanya Milgate are now the very proud owners of Morrall's Bakery and, along with their family, are baking away, keeping the iconic bakery's traditions alive.
