Cooeee Sistas Art Workshops is excited to present local Aboriginal traditional and contemporary weaver, Debbs Robinson in their Mellow Melon Basket Weaving Workshop using locally harvested flexible fruit tree branches, long, strong Lomandra grasses, bulrushes (cumbungi), strappy Watsonia leaves and aged passionfruit and grape vines.
Grab your art therapy in a few fun filled weaving hours learning this amazing skill that will share the gift of weaving knowledge with you. It will delight, fascinate and educate adults and children alike. Weaving is rewarding and addictive! It's the gift that just keeps giving. You'll never look at your garden or weeds in the same way again! They love weaving with materials that nature and man discards. Lush organic material that is free, at hand and everywhere we go. You are welcome to bring any weaving materials you may already have to make your piece personal to you. Vines, strappy leaves or finger thin flexible fruit tree branches are all great. Everything you need to start your basket will be available for you and a scrummy afternoon tea will also be supplied for your pleasure.
