Rathmines Memorial Bowling Club is a licensed Club with an excellent Thai-based restaurant. The main building of the Club is the former Officers Mess where the Royal Australian Air Force established a large flying boat base at Rathmines in 1939 as part of the World War 2 defence of Australia.
The Club is part of the Heritage listed Rathmines Park. The Club has a Memorial Wall to commemorate the squadrons which were based at Rathmines and the 322 aircrew who lost their lives flying Catalina flying boats during the war.
