Grab the kayak and head out on the Sandon River. Keep a look out for fish, stingrays, turtles and other amazing marine life! Dolphins regularly cruise up the river too. One of the most popular places in The Clarence Valley to snorkel and it's easy to see why.
The Sandon River campground is one of the most idyllic campsites you can imagine. But come prepared - the closest place to buy supplies is at Brooms Head, 12 kilometres away, along a fairly bumpy road!
From the beach, you can admire Plover Island, which sits just out of the river mouth. Plover Island has great cultural importance to the Yaegl People.

Sandon marks the northernmost point of The Solitary Islands Marine Park. This was the first marine park in NSW, with protective zoning declared back in 1991. The Marine Park stretches from Sandon all the way down to Coffs Harbour.
