The Soundboks Oz Grom Open hosted by Lennox-Ballina Boardriders, now in its 14th year, is a junior surfing competition.

The Age Division Event is one of only five 10,000-point events where surfers are contending for top National rankings for the chance to compete internationally in the International Surf Association World Junior Championships.

The event also incorporates a 1000 point World Surf League Pro Junior competition where surfers aged between 18-21 are fighting for a ticket to qualify for the upcoming World Junior Championships.

The Soundboks Oz Grom Open is considered one of the best junior events in the world. The event is held annually at beautiful Lennox Head - Seven Mile Beach.

The event is run very similar to a World Surf League Tour event - complete with a judging tower, a five-person judging panel, computerised judging system and priority board, athlete's area, a spectator area, live webcast featuring world renowned commentators, personalities, and athletes, along with a huge social media presence.

The competitors get to experience what it is like to be a professional surfer, and their families, coaches, and support crew get to experience the beauty of the Northern Rivers region.

The Pro Junior event attracts viewership through the World Surf League streaming platform of over 1 million channel subscribers from all over the world.
