Located on the beautiful Richmond River, Ballina NSW, Mumbai Masala is the inception of owners Rahul and Radhika and showcases their extensive wealth, knowledge and love of Indian food.
After completing a 4-year degree at the prestigious Graduate School of Hotel Administration in South India, Rahul went on to gain experience working his way up from Commis chef to Senior Chef de Partie and Sous chef in several restaurants in Southern, Eastern and Northern India. After moving to Australia in 2010, and a short stint in Sydney, Rahul and Radhika then moved to the picturesque Ballina region, now called home, and opened Mumbai Masala in 2019.
The menu at Mumbai Masala showcases Rahul’s culinary journey and celebrates the cuisine of both North (Kadia prawns, Butter chicken, lamb Korma) and Southern India (Malabar prawns, fish Nilgiri, chicken Madras). All spices are roasted and blended in house, the delicious selection of breads house baked in the tandoor and desserts made on the premises.
