Suzannah Jones's collection of gouache paintings, Riparian Rhythms, currently featured in In the Frame at Dungog by Design, explores the cognitive connections we form with landscapes, places, and spaces. She believes that landscapes subtly yet profoundly shape us, influencing our thoughts and emotions through observation and interaction. These environments define not only where we live, but also who we are. Her art reflects this relationship, focusing less on literal representation and more on her personal response to the environment.

Through shape, form, and colour on a two-dimensional surface, Suzannah seeks to express this connection. Living by the Williams River in the Dungog Shire, and experiencing its daily sights and sounds, provides her with a healing experience that flows through and manifests in her work.

Suzannah has won the Grindell’s Hut Residency in the Northern Flinders Ranges and her work has been recognised as a finalist in awards such as the Pro Hart Outback Art Prize, Basil Sellers Art Prize, Waverly Art Prize, Burrinja Climate Change Biennale, and Whyalla Art Prize.

She won the Dungog Art Prize in 2022, the pastel section of the Scone Art Prize in 2022, and the Drawing Prize of the Scone Art Prize in 2023. Recently, she was a finalist in the Fleurieu Biennale 2024 and a finalist in the Pro Hart Outback Art Prize 2024.
