The Outback Arts Gallery is a non-profit organisation located on the main street of Coonamble. It provides local and regional artists with the opportunity to exhibit and sell their work in-store and online.
Displayed in the gallery are artworks as well as a wide range of art supplies. Outback Arts is one of 15 Regional Arts Development Organisations in New South Wales, servicing the seven contributing local government areas of Bourke, Brewarrina, Bogan, Cobar, Coonamble, Walgett and Warren. The region covers an area of 163,886 square kms and has a population of 26,400 residents.
Outback Arts supports and promotes arts and culture in the far west by working across a broad range of regional community arts development programs and initiatives. It works directly with artists, individuals, community groups and local government, supporting communities and sectors that have limited access to arts and culture.
Caters for people with sufficient mobility to climb a few steps but who would benefit from fixtures to aid balance. (This includes people using walking frames and mobility aids)
Have a doorbell or intercom at an accessible height and display a contact number (accessible height is 900mm-1100 mm)
Have a step free main entrance to the building and/or reception area (includes ramps or slopes with a maximum gradient of 1:14, otherwise are too steep for wheelchairs)
Have an accessible public toilet which is unlocked
Have step free access to the conference or function room
Have step free outdoor pathways (includes picnic areas, barbecues and shelters)
Provide seating in common areas including reception area
Use floors/coverings which are slip resistant, firm and smooth
