Situated on the edge of the Murray Valley Regional Park, yet just a stone’s throw from the town centre, the Deniliquin Golf Club boasts one of the nation’s most natural and beautiful courses.
With 18 carefully manicured fairways meandering around the waterways and forest, Deniliquin Golf Club is a mecca for native birds and wildlife. The club also offers a 'same day play' which is rare among the Murray courses.
The course itself is a par 72, comprising five par threes, five par fives and eight par fours. The front nine is shorter, though lots of water hazards require precision placement. The more open back nine allows you to open up with the driver, but beware the creeks and trees if you're too far off line.
The course is not long by today's standards - 5848 metres for men and 5118 metres for ladies - but challenges the accuracy of all players. Good shots are rewarded, but those who stray can find huge trees which line their fairways, Aljoes Creek which splits the course or one of the many water holes.
The greens are fast but true and kept in magnificent condition throughout the year.
