The iconic Rutherglen Wine Bottle is turning 125 in 2025, and they’re raising a glass to this historic milestone. To mark the occasion, the committee is opening its doors to visitors on three Sundays in January.
The bottle will be open from 9am to 12 noon on Sunday 5th, 12th and 19th January. Committee members will be on hand to tell you the story of the bottle and show you in.
They’re joining in the fun by syncing their Gourmet Ambles with the opening hours of the Wine Bottle – and with a twist! It’ll be a reverse Gourmet Amble.
The program:
Start by making your way to the Wine Bottle – whether by foot or bike – and explore the inside of this amazing structure, soaking in the breathtaking views from 9 am to 12 noon.
At the base of the Wine Bottle, they’ll be ready to greet you with your entree: a delicious charcuterie platter paired with a refreshing glass of Rosé.
Then, take a leisurely stroll or ride along the new bike path to Jones Winery Restaurant, where a delectable main course and dessert await, complete with expertly matched wines.
Your ticket includes a $10 donation to the committee, helping to maintain this treasured landmark and support future projects. Come join them for a day of history, food, wine, and fun!
