Begin your delightful stroll at the historic Moulamein Courthouse, located at the end of the footbridge across Billabong Creek. Serving the region from 1848 to 1968, the current structure dates back to 1890.
Cross back over the bridge and turn left along the creek until you reach the Edward River. Here, you'll find a historic wharf with informative signs detailing its past, including the old punt that ferried people and cargo across the river. Just across the road, a park offers picnic and barbecue facilities, perfect for a leisurely meal.
For any supplies, a quick walk up Morago Street will meet your needs.
Continue your journey along the river to Moulamein Road. Head one block north to discover the new Moulamein Heritage Village. From here, continue north on Patterson Street and enjoy a scenic walk around Moulamein Lake. On warm days, cool off with a swim, watch for black swans, pelicans, and ducks, and relax under one of the three shelters featuring free gas barbecues.
If you'd prefer a shorter walk, start at the Moulamein Heritage Village. From there, either head north around the lake or south along the Edward River back towards the Courthouse.
