A 150-plus-year-old hotel, the Peel Inn Nundle, is nestled in the hills of the Great Dividing Range.

The hotel was built in 1860 and was won in a poker game by John Schofield in about 1863. The hotel still remains in the Schofield family to this day.

It has a six-metre-deep veranda which was attached in the early 1900s. Their famous grapevine-covered beer garden offers scrumptious pub-style food.

The exterior remains largely unchanged from the gold rush days, with decorative ironwork and Wunderlich tin still a feature on the balcony.
