Australia Day Celebrations Gunnedah

Celebrate the spirit of Australia at Gunnedah Shire’s Australia Day festivities! This national day is all about embracing what makes Australia extraordinary and coming together as a community.

Kicking off the celebrations is the Australia Day Quiz at the Golf Club on 22 January at 7pm. On 25 January, Club Gunnedah hosts an Australia Day Chess Competition from 9am, followed by the Citizenship Ceremony at 5pm and the Australia Day Awards Ceremony at 6pm in the Civic Theatre. Wrap up the evening in style at the Australia Day Eve Cocktail Party and DJ night at the Courthouse Hotel, starting at 7pm.

On Australia Day, the fun begins with a Triathlon, combined Church Service, Rotary BBQ brunch, and the Great Aussie Cake Off. Enjoy athletic events, Splash Day at the pool, yabbie races, and the lively Touch Footy Match. Other highlights include the Rural Museum Open Day, Bowls Triples, and free screenings of Happy Feet and Strictly Ballroom at the Civic Theatre.
