Participants are invited to join an exciting and immersive one-day workshop introducing the wonderful possibilities of sketchbooking. Sketching is the cornerstone of all artistic expression, making it essential for every artist to keep a sketchbook or journal. Whether the interest lies in sketching natural history, nature, landscapes, urban scenes, or travel, this workshop will provide valuable guidance. It is designed to help kickstart a daily sketching routine or simply improve drawing skills, serving as a great starting point.

Participants will discover how maintaining a sketchbook can ignite creativity and fuel their artistic journey. The workshop will cover a variety of mediums and techniques to bring sketchbooks to life. From fundamental drawing exercises to mastering quick sketches under time constraints, attendees will gain practical skills and creative insights.

The workshop will teach participants to confidently use pen and ink without the need for pencilling in, and will include lessons on tonal studies, mixed media, and gouache. Working on a variety of subjects from natural history and photographs, and possibly engaging in some en plein air sketching, the workshop promises to be comprehensive and inspiring.

Actively welcomes people with access needs.
