Bland in NSW has joined forces with Dull in Scotland and Boring in Oregon to create the League of Extraordinary Communities.
In 2012, the town of Boring in Oregon, USA, voted to establish a relationship with the village of Dull in Perth and Kinross, calling it “a pair for the ages.”
Bland became part of this alliance in 2013, leading to the formation of the League of Extraordinary Communities. Both Bland and Boring are named after early settlers – William Bland and William Boring – while Dull is thought to derive its name from the Pictish word for field.
