The country town of Barellan is located 55 kilometres from Narrandera on the Burley Griffin Way. Barellan is noted for its warm hospitality and the can-do attitude of its residents. The town is home to Wimbledon Champion Evonne Goolagong-Cawley OAM, who grew up and learned to play tennis in Barellan. You can see a 20:1 scale model of Evonne’s battered wooden signature Dunlop racquet in the park in the town centre. Nearby is a sculpture depicting the classic cartoon character Saltbush Bill, created by renowned Australian cartoonist Eric Jolliffe.
