Narrandera's Aerial Trunk Route formed part of a telecommunications route that linked cities and towns throughout Eastern Australia. Constructed in the early 1950s, it was considered by experts at the time to be one of the world's best. Decommissioned in 1987, the remnant pole and lines remain as a memorial.
Located alongside the Sturt Memorial in Sturt Drive, between the Murrumbidgee River and Narrandera Wetlands, this memorial is a fascinating piece of Australian telecommunications history.
