Near the foot of Mount Canobolas lies a beautiful, tranquil lake that welcomes locals and visitors to exercise and energize, or just relax and enjoy the scenery. Lake Canobolas supports a range of activities with the changing of the seasons including cycling, sailing, canoeing, walking, swimming, triathlons and dragon boating. Kids should check out the Apex Adventure Playground on the eastern bank before grabbing a bite of lunch from the Lakeside Kiosk and Cafe.

There are numerous picnic areas, barbecues and fishing spots as well! A walking track meanders around the lake and is a haven for native birds and other wildlife.

On the eastern side of the lake, the Old Pumphouse has been restored to near original condition after being disused for over 60 years. Lake Canobolas, previously known as Meadow Creek Reservoir, was constructed in 1918 to supply water to Orange. The Pumphouse transported the water from the reservoir to Orange.

Lake Canobolas is open daily from early morning until sunset. Dogs are permitted within the park but must be on a lead.
