This picturesque park marks the site of Banjo Paterson's birth on17 February 1864. At the time, the property "Narrambla" was owned by his aunt and uncle, Rose and John Templar. John Templar also operated a flour mill on this site from 1864 to 1869 - both the homestead and flour mill once stood within these grounds.

A memorial to Australia's famous poet was unveiled here in 1947 and in 2003 a bust of Banjo was placed as part of the Centenary of Federation.
It's an ideal stopover for lunch with lovely views, BBQs, picnic shelters, interpretive signage, toilets and plenty of off-street parking.
