Have you always wanted to know how to turn seasonal fruit and veg into amazing relishes, chutneys and sauces? This is your opportunity to learn how!

They start each workshop with a cup of tea and tastings of a selection of local cheeses and chutneys while you learn all the fundamentals of these preserving methods, from ingredient and jar selection and prep to steps in production, bottling and storage.

The importance of acidity, temperature and heat sealing will be explained, and you will put this all into practice when you get “hands-on”, using seasonal ingredients from the orchard to prepare and make a batch of yummy relish/chutney or sauce.

With the skills and knowledge gained from this class, you’ll be equipped to take advantage of the seasons and make these tasty preserves for use throughout the year, or as beautiful gifts.

Knowledge required: This class is appropriate for absolute beginners, those needing a refresher, or those who want extra tips to improve their preserving skills.

What you'll get:
A jar of seasonal relish or chutney.
A take-home Chutney/Sauce Making Kit including one kilogram fresh stone fruit; sugar, onions, vinegar, spices and jars.
Full workshop notes and recipes.

What to bring: Please wear closed-in non-slip shoes. Everything you need for the class will be provided.
