As a part of the Stories shared exhibition Fiona Howle will run two workshops on the 'Art of Crochet'. A morning of beginners crochet and an afternoon of advanced crochet.
Artist Fiona Howle sat quietly encircled by her fibres and family treasures, and what surfaced is an explosion of colourful, tactile, vivacious containers. As functional as the containers may be, they also engage so many of the senses (including the one of child’s play) and the older folk’s love of tangible family keepsakes.
There is value in playing with these treasures, and there is added value in learning how to make them. Fiona will lead two workshops during the exhibition run; one to start beginners on their journey into the joys of crochet, the second one to advance those already fluent in the technique of crochet.
