Pejar Dam lies roughly halfway between Goulburn and Crookwell. With a capacity of 9,000 megalitres and a surface area of approximately 1.55 square kilometres, it's a substantial body of water and it's stocked with Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout and Australian Bass, so it's an angler's paradise!

There is good access off the main Crookwell to Goulburn Road, ample car parking, public toilets and picnic tables. Add in stunningly beautiful surrounding landscapes and some of the cleanest and freshest air in the country, and you can see why it's also such a wonderful place to take the family for a break and enjoy a picnic lunch!

As a bonus, if you are into bird watching, it's a bit of a "birding hotspot", especially for waterfowl. Electric-powered boats are permitted on the dam, but these are alpine waters so you must wear a Level 50S Lifejacket when out on the water.
