Delicious meals by Swan Fine Foods, three nights’ accommodation with a choice of luxury or glam rustic rooms, and a two-day Earth Stories drawing and painting workshop, will make this retreat truly memorable.

Saturday there will be a presentation of inspirational paintings throughout art history and culture, where artists have explored the life of rivers, along with an overview of art techniques to set us up for the weekend ahead.

Enjoy setting up in the shade of ancient she-oaks for a drawing session with Bronwyn. Here we will explore various drawing techniques to gather unique impressions of place. After this, there will be free drawing time to explore the area and discover the wide vistas, rock formations, plants, water, and the sensory elements of weather and sound! Gather ideas and impressions before returning to the studio.

Afterwards, you can translate your drawings into unique compositions on canvas. we will consider laying on a ground and tonal base, considering composition, colour and the diverse possibilities of mark-making!

Sunday is a day for settling in and painting in the studio, with views of the Matheson Ranges. Continue at your own pace, with cups of tea and guidance as required.

Monday is checkout, at a leisurely pace after breakfast or extend your stay to spend some more time enjoying Waterloo Station!
