Doodie Herman's work is a response to landscape across the country in all its inspiring forms, and includes farmland, green forests, red desert and the beautiful bush in between. Nature has been a place of solace and connection since she was a child, and she paints what she feels in its presence, using memory and her own photo references.

The artworks in 'A Sense of Place' represent the diversity of tools, palettes and styles she uses to explore an authentic vision of a personal experience. The variety in the works, from abstraction to impressionism, also reflects a constant desire to explore different ways of seeing and responding to landscape in the moment.

Doodie has been a Finalist in a number of Art Prizes, including the Hawkesbury Art Prize, the ANL Maritime Art Award and the Greenway Art Prize. She has exhibited in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, and her work is held in collections in the UK, the US and Australia.
